from ouinsider.com, a great post
But they don't have an agenda...
Every time ESPN gets around to announcing the game
results, the spend over 5 minutes talking about the Auburn win. It always comes
on before OU, and on several occasions, they show 3 or 4 schools before the get
to us and spend about 90 seconds on us. But they don't have an agenda...
In discussions, they talk about the Auburn game, aspects of the Auburn game, and
so forth. The only mention OU gets is that they think Auburn should be number 2
over OU, or that they don't have an agenda against OU. Mark may just said this
was the first time Auburn has been down at the half and they came back and won.
Of course, nowhere did they mention the pathetic schedule Auburn played. But
they don't have an agenda...
I've learned all about Jason Campbell, Carnell Williams, and the other RB Brown.
None of them had a particularly stellar day, especially not the RBs. There is no
mention of how few yards those RBs got and how a beleaguered Alabama team put
the clamps on them. But they don't have an agenda...
If you listen to to the words they use to describe the Auburn game, Auburn
"rolled", "fought back" or "focused" "composed themselves" in the second half.
OU on the other hand, was "sluggish" in the first half, but came back against an
"overmatched" Baylor team. I guess Alabama wasn't overmatched. But they don't
have an agenda...
Well, ESPN keeps repeating that so it must be true. Dan Patrick said on his
radio show how absurd such a notion was, and then talks about why OU doesn't
deserve to be in the Orange Bowl after what happened at the end of last year?
I heard with my own ears Dan Patrick saying they didn't have a contract with the
SEC to carry its Saturday evening or Thursday evening games as Bob Stoops said.
He said CBS does. So, I guess the September 11th Alabama-Mississippi game, the
September 25th Kentucky-Florida game, the October 2nd South Carolina-Alabama
game, the October 9th LSU-Florida game, the October 16th Tennessee-Mississippi,
the October 23rd Georgia at Arkansas game, the October 30th Auburn-Mississippi
game, the November 6th Mississippi State-Alabama game, the November 13th South
Carolina-Florida game and Alabama-LSU games, plus a host of SEC vs other
conference games don't count. That makes sense doesn't it?
