Beano cook answers a question about Adrian Peterson
Daniel (Dallas):
Beano, do you think A. Peterson is better now than Maurice Clarrett was as a freshman?

Beano Cook: (3:42 PM ET ) I would say yes. But somebody might disagree with me and they might be right. I think Peterson has better speed and may be better in the open field. Clarett might be more powerful. But again, I might be 100 percent wrong.

Beano Cook: (3:43 PM ET ) Peterson is the best freshman back since Herschel Walker in 1980.

Peterson for Heisman talk was on SportsCenter, Pardon the Interruption, I Max, Around the Horn, the Sports Reporters, hell, I'm guessing Cold Pizza. Can someone at espn.com tell me who voted Adrian Peterson 4th on their Heisman Poll?

It's looking more and more like a two-player race for the Heisman between Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson and USC's Matt Leinart.

Sooner Freshman Clearly Leads Heisman Race from SW Times Arkansas
While today’s presidential election is too close to call, if the Heisman Trophy vote was held today there would be a runaway winner — Oklahoma’s Adrian Peterson.

As a Heisman elector, I get scads of promotional materials each week. The various universities should save their time and money because Oklahoma’s Adrian Peterson is hands down the best player in college football.

Without him, the Sooners might have lost two or three games this year. If he stays healthy, Peterson might be the driving force behind yet another national championship for OU.

One of the things that makes Peterson especially special is how he puts up PlayStation-like statistics in important games. The kid ran for 225 yards against Texas and then 249 against Oklahoma State. He’s averaging 6.1 yards per carry. (For comparison, Arkansas’ running back by committee yields just 4.3 yards per carry.)

Sunday morning SportsCenter, Mark May calls Adrian Peterson the best freshman, ever!
The Sports Reporters, start off with the Heisman is already Adrian's, if he stays healthy
You have to admit, the Heisman field is muddled, I don't see any QB putting up unreal numbers. It's AD's trophy to win.
And talk about big time running? Adrian Peterson, in OU's two biggest games, runs for 225 yards vs. Texas and 249 yards vs. OSU. Adrian Peterson is a big time runner, running wild in the big games.

Adrian Peterson is all over the news, radio, internet now and lets keep the Heisman hype going

Last Performance -- If Adrian Peterson isn't in NYC for the Heisman ceremony after this, then voters have a serious bias against freshmen. This week, he only broke the NCAA record for consectuive 100-yard games by a freshman (Peterson now has eight) and OU's freshman rushing record of 1,184 yards set by De'Mond Parker in 1996.
